ABSTRACT
This chapter provides clarity around the processes to be mapped. While Step 1 prepares the care delivery organization (CDO) to undertake process mapping by assessing and attending to organizational readiness, Step 2 organizes the process mapping work so that the focus shifts to each specific process. There should be no further concern that there is a process that has been missed. Compiling a process inventory also breaks up the work into manageable components. It provides clarity about how the process is coordinated with one or more other processes to ensure system-wide interoperability.
