ABSTRACT
Arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses) are emerging as one of the most important global public health threats of the new millennium [1]. Members of the genus Alphavirus, family Togaviridae represent some examples of arboviruses that are responsible for causing diseases ranging from mild febrile illness to severe polyarthritis and encephalitis in humans.
