ABSTRACT

Norman R. Augustine, retired chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin, gave one of the most valuable explanations of how unethical behavior unfolds in his Pace Award acceptance speech. The Pace Award is presented annually by the Ethics Resource Center in Washington, D.C., to honor individuals and groups from the corporate world who display excellence in the field of ethics.1 Augustine and his fellow colleagues at ERC bring us hope in the wake of the highly publicized corporate scandals of recent years.
