ABSTRACT
Concentrated PV Systems Concentrated sunlight was used in ancient times. Greek inventor Archimedes is said to have used mirrors to burn ships of an attacking Roman fleet in Syracuse, Sicily during a siege when Syracuse was a Greek colony (BC 224-222). The legend says that he used mirrors to concentrate sunlight on Roman ships and managed to burn them down.
