ABSTRACT

Once the corporate strategy is underway (or in development), a tactical strategy can begin full implementation. In this chapter, the focus is on the development and application of a tactical innovation process for the federal sector. Tactical refers to more of a day-to-day product, process, and service application. The focus is on the external primarily as this is the touch point where the customer or user determines the value of the innovation. The information presented in this chapter is for a generic process, one that requires improvement in some form. Our practice is to develop a highly customized set of strategies for each agency or organization. To demonstrate the process, the focus is on improving an existing process.
