ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the inspirational qualities of museum collections. They elicit a response through many forms of art – art itself, architecture, design, music and sound, literature. Many artists use museums and collections as the media for works they create. Creativity is not restricted to art, of course: technical design and invention are creative processes, too.
