ABSTRACT

Capture NX offers an extensive set of tools to adjust your RAW and JPEG photos. Some adjustments can only be made to RAW files and will not be available when you’re working with a JPEG. To give you an introduction to the capabilities of Capture NX we’ll look at the features you’ll use most often. Capture NX has a number of palettes arranged on three sides of your screen. Each palette has its name written vertically. Just above the name of the palette is a little box with a or in it. These symbols tell you what will happen if you click the box. A plus symbol means the palette will expand and show the contents. If you click a minus symbol the palette will shrink and hide the contents. The boxes down the left side of your monitor probably look familiar. They’re the same ones that are in ViewNX. Next to these vertical boxes is the browser used to find the photos you want to open in Capture NX.
