ABSTRACT

This chapter covers 20 basic features of Soundtrack Pro. In addition to the descriptions, the chapter provides detailed illustrations to use the features in the most efficient way possible. Each illustration is labeled with numbers that correspond to a more detailed textual explanation. The chapter covers everything from recording audio to more complex tasks like using those specialized tools that are useful but not necessarily intuitive. While the Actions List creates an individual effect history for each clip, the Lift Process Effects option in the Sound Palette provides a tool to copy a set of process effects off one clip and onto another. The Audio Stretch tool is a powerful way to tweak the timing of audio to match picture needs or to simply alter the audio to increase/decrease the rate of speech. The surround capabilities of Soundtrack are integral to its overall design. Each track, submix, and master are surround-ready and can be switched to surround at any time.
