ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will first look at several ways to design your assignments to make them more effective. We will also look at how to use assignments to motivate your students to come to class and do the reading and how to design assignments that discourage plagiarism and cheating. We will cover how to distribute the assignments over the course of the semester and how to prepare to grade your assignments. Finally, we will talk about how to put all of this information into your syllabus so your students will know what you expect of them.
