In its compact dozen lines that passage exemplifies most of the principles and techniques I’ve been conerned with; I would draw particular attention to lines 8 and 11, where an incautious writer might have omitted important commas or the quotation marks. As it is, the meticulously correct punctuation helps voice and meaning, thus guaranteeing the lively flow that Wodehouse intended.
