ABSTRACT

September 11th is a date the world will not forget in a hurry: a date when potential air travellers will think twice about the necessity of their travel. September 11th 2001 was the date the Twin Towers which had dominated the New York skyline were destroyed, along with the innocent lives of the passengers on board the aircraft which crashed into those buildings, killing those who were in or around the two towering infernos at the time. It all happened in broad daylight. However, it was early night-time-what I call ‘light darkness’—on September 11th five years earlier than the event I reflect on here occurred.
