ABSTRACT
An understanding of the methodology used in the analysis of genes described in earlier chapters is fundamental to understanding how these genes can be used for diagnosis and prognosis in cancer. There are many excellent molecular biology books available which describe these procedures in detail [1–3]. This chapter outlines these techniques briefly so that those unfamiliar with the technology can follow the previous chapters without immediate recourse to other books.
