ABSTRACT
Religions wear out. They do not always continue to respond to the innermost or doubt-filled questionings of their own followers, even though the routine of ritual allows them to carryon from day to day. But official or ambient terrorism, of the law or activists of a new and soon dominant religion, also assumes the mission of persuading the last recalcitrants by forceful means.
