The following case represents an almost idyllic collaboration experience that we would all wish for. Virtually all of the participants from the many institutions were highly competent, experienced, committed, involved, and fully cooperative in working together with an able and concerned, poor, single-parent, immigrant, multiproblem family. However, this case is not particularly exceptional within the community and organizations involved. It therefore well demonstrates the

validity and effectiveness of the collaborative process. The collaboration in this case went on for 3V£ months with a follow-up 4 months later.
