ABSTRACT

Two men, one morning. Reluctantly rolling off of his cotton sheets, Samuel groggily stumbles down the hall to the kitchen. The freezer door swings open to reveal a metal-wrapped half-pound bag of gourmet coffee. He gives it a shake and concludes there’s just enough to make his morning pot. Samuel’s practiced hands hardly require guiding as he pours the coffee into the grinder, presses the lid, and from there dumps it into the filter. The pot’s in the sink filling, and then it’s poured to the line in the maker and he’s flipped the switch, taken out the sugar and cream. He’s back down the hall to take a warm shower while it brews. Back from the shower the coffee and sugar are kicking in while he throws a premade smoothie mix of orange juice, bananas, mangos, and passion fruit into the blender.
