A Lapse Back Into the Past On one level I was horried by Jacob’s story. He was a trained killer, an assassin. If his story was indeed true, then he walked up to people, supposedly designated as enemies, and murdered them in cold blood. Moreover, he did not seem to show the slightest remorse or guilt, claiming he was just a soldier following orders. We have heard that excuse before.
