ABSTRACT
Chapter Three explores the pre-production period of working on a theatrical production. The stage manager is guided through analyzing the play, meeting with the director and designers, participating in auditions, and creating a plan for the entire stage management team. The stage manager is introduced to key pieces of paperwork created during this time, including the prop list, the calendar, the character/scene breakdown, and the contact sheet.
