ABSTRACT
This chapter draws together and synthesizes the information presented in the previous chapters, highlighting that this book has contributed important new knowledge of the Missile Crisis, particularly by adding more from the Cuban historical perspective, as well the incorporation of new archaeological and anthropological information. It is also emphasized that the Missile Crisis was an episode in world history that is too important to be left to stereotypes and simplifications. Not at least being that it did not start, or end, when the Soviet Union placed nuclear missiles on and then withdrew them from Cuba.
