ABSTRACT

There has been research about sex and there has been research about ADHD, but before this survey, there hasn’t been any significant research on how ADHD affects a person’s sexuality or couple’s sex life. Defining sex broadly also promotes a more satisfying sex life. Those who rated ADHD as having a large negative effect on their sex life also tended to rate almost all aspects of their sex life and relationship more negatively. This leads to at least two possible interpretations. The first and more obvious one is that when someone feels that ADHD has a large negative effect on their sex life, then it can really make a mess of things and affect many aspects of their sex life and relationship. As it turns out, most people want to have a lot more sex with their partner than they are having. By contrast, the ADHD men had the highest desired frequency whereas the non-ADHD women had the lowest.
