ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book focuses on the nature of the Rorschach Inkblot Method as a measure of perception, association, and behaviour and explores the interpretive significance of the structural variables, thematic imagery, and sequence analysis in a Rorschach protocol. It demonstrates the clinical utility of Rorschach assessment in the evaluation and treatment of seniors coping with age-related developmental issues. The book aims to compare the Rorschach protocols of 203 French and Spanish patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's dementia with the data from our international nonpatient senior adult sample. It illustrates Treatment recommendations based on Rorschach findings and shows that the Rorschach scores of elderly people without neurocognitive impairment closely resemble the scores of younger adults. The book also shows that personality characteristics tend to be stable over time and only minimally affected by aging.
