ABSTRACT

Fear, in all its various incarnations, can be defeated. Simple techniques like recognizing and analyzing fear, asking, what is the worst that can happen? If the danger is real, keep moving, take a deep breath, and relax as you exhale. Judge the distance between you and the danger; the further away it is from you the less the immediate danger. Fear is a mind game based on perception. Placing a blindfold over a horse fleeing a burning barn will allow it to be led out. The same with a human, if the frightening thing cannot be seen, the fear will evaporate. Having a child look under his bed for monsters will assure him there is nothing there to be frightened of.
