ABSTRACT

Many in the entertainment lighting business will earn a living traveling the world on a tour bus. Tour bus living is different than other types of travel and it is important to understand the uniqueness. Living on a tour bus is comparable to sharing a small apartment with a group of people that the people probably would never choose to live with. Typically, there are three main locations on a tour bus: front lounge, bunks, and back lounge. In terms of the restroom, the number one rule on tour buses has to do with number two. Tour buses are not sanctuaries and are open to searches by law enforcement and border patrols. Living on a tour bus can be an enjoyable experience as long as everyone on the bus gets along and has respect for each other. Tour bus travel is not for everyone, but it can also become a wonderful way of life that many enjoy throughout their career.
