ABSTRACT

The resemblance of a translated token compared to its original may only be interpreted and judged to be relatively similar, partly similar or not similar to the original token by the translator or group(s) of peopled involved in the translation process. The uncomplicated movement of innovative knowledge between universities and companies is questioned. The organizational translation studies researchers agree that some kind of work is needed by translators to translate tokens. And what may characterize this translation process and these actants that may slow down or contribute to speed up the translation process or 'make it successful' may be foreseen a priori. Consequently, tokens are assumed to be co-constructed through translators situated interaction with and translation of body-internal and body-external actants that are relevant or make themselves relevant to the translation process. In the actualist view on translation, actor-network researchers acknowledge only events and happenings.
