ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book highlights the need for further research into the various non-religious subgroups. It considers the data produced by six questions exploring digital millennials’ stance towards the Bible, analyses their beliefs about and feelings towards it. The book describes how digital millennials use the Bible, outlines their responses to four questions that investigate the frequency and nature of their Bible engagement. It also considers the place of the Bible in the social media networks that these young adults are part of. The book provides data from a comparable survey of churchgoing Bible-centric digital millennials. It focuses on the findings of Bible surveys from the United States. A national survey was therefore designed to explore three different aspects of millennials’ engagement with the Bible: their stance towards the Bible.
