ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 highlights the post-Jungian developments of the classic method of active imagination. It describes several authors who outlined differently the various stages of active imagination. It also focuses on the different emphasis made by post-Jungians on the difference between real imagination and imaginative activity. The chapter also looks at the different applications of active imagination in the expressive arts and the various developments which can still be carried out related to various sensorial modalities. It also puts light on the wider application of active imagination to various disciplines. The chapter concludes by looking at Jungians who tried to compare active imagination to other methods including RED.
