ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 charts the different factions and divisions which occurred after Desoille’s death. These were a result of personality differences as well as epistemological ones. Some groups remained close to Desoille’s original method, while others tried to include it as part of psychoanalysis and remove any signs of directivity from the method. During Desoille’s time, the method also disseminated internationally with modest success including South America. The chapter highlights the countries and societies where Desoille’s method and its derivatives are still practised. It ends with a review of the clinical application of the directed waking dream method to different psychological issues.
