ABSTRACT

Much is heard continually of “seeming discrepancies and contradictions” in the Bible, which require “the proper interpretation” and “reconciling.” It is to be noted that the Bible taught that the universe was created in one week until it was found to be untrue; after that it did not. Strong circumstantial evidence that the Bible is not the word of God is found in the weakness of the argument, in the insufficiency of the evidence presented, and in the admissions made by those holding and defending the orthodox position. It can not be true that the Bible reveals God, for according to the Bible itself man knew God before there was a Bible. Perhaps the strongest circumstantial evidence that the Bible is not the word of God is found in the fact that theologians have never been able to agree upon a definition or statement of the fundamental dogma of the orthodox belief, viz., that of atonement and redemption.
