ABSTRACT
The research method explains the protocols for how the study’s data was collected. This chapter details the organization and the information that goes into the method section for a quantitative content analysis. Students learn how to conceptualize and operationalize their study’s concepts into measurable variables, design the sampling strategy, and create coding rules. Directions on constructing a codebook and coding form are included. Examples are provided from quantitative content analysis studies.
