ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the many ways that educators have and continue to engage in reflection and assessment as individuals, as partners, and as collaborators with their network. Reflection and assessment are essential components to successful partnerships and projects of any kind. Defining success for this collaboration is largely dependent upon mission statements, strategic plan, program goals, and learning objectives. Although the public history digital story “A Town Called Donora” has been viewed on YouTube more than 10,000 times, success is measured not only by a grade or number of views. The Senator John Heinz History Center is Pennsylvania’s largest history museum and a proud affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. The Heinz History Center is an educational institution that engages and inspires large and diverse audiences, and this work is accomplished in partnership with others. Most digital storytellers take great pride in the works they create and the relationships they build.
