ABSTRACT
The following presentation seeks to establish whether and to what extent the provisions of the Convention on the Law of the Sea, and in particular Article 88, restrict military activities on the high seas. The view is commonly held that the LOS Convention forms part of the international law of peace5 and thus has limited relevance with respect to activities of States Parties in the time of war.6
