—You have often talked of meaningful dialogue, but you have barely characterized it. When is dialogue meaningful? When those engaged in the dialogue can understand the language their interlocutors or their translators are using? When they agree or at least eventually come to an agreement that the dialogue is meaningful? Or are there other conditions that need to be satisfied?
