ABSTRACT

This research examined the changes that were made to the performance measurement system (PMS) of a bank operating in an emerging economy with specific reference to the factors that influenced those changes and the consequential responses to the pressures the bank faced to change its PMS. The research addressed three research questions: (i) How did the PMS in a bank operating in Pakistan change over the last decade? (ii) What factors influenced the changes? and (iii) How did the bank respond to the factors driving change in the performance measurement system?
