ABSTRACT
The Innovate phase is the critical group of steps where the final solution is designed. It is often the most challenging phase as it requires people to think creatively and break existing barriers. However, it is also the most exciting phase because of the opportunity to be creative and innovative. The purpose of the Innovate phase is to make the process(es) within the scope of the Business Process Management (BPM) activity as efficient and effective as possible, to meet stakeholders' current and future expectations. This phase also provides a unique opportunity to quantify, in a more rigorous manner, the benefits outlined in the original business case. Setting the directions and goals for the Innovate phase is a critical step, and one that needs to be addressed early in the phase. In the case of a process led transformation, large BPM program/project the Innovate workshops should not be constrained by the current organization structure; if it needs changing, then recommend it is changed.
