ABSTRACT

First, although it may be natural to try to copy or adopt the technique of a champion athlete, that technique is not necessarily best suited for every learner. Desired outcome can also be achieved through variations of a particular technique and it is not unusual for athletes to adopt their own idiosyncrasies. Practitioners must, therefore, develop a thorough understanding of biomechanics in order to determine the fundamental components of proper technique. In addition, learners might not share the same underlying abilities and attributes as the athlete whom they are trying to emulate. Consequently, certain techniques may be inappropriate due to individual differences.
