ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thought on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book reviews the most important findings and considers their theoretical implications. It explores the implications for Scottish Green Party itself, and sets out a future research agenda. The Scottish Green Party exists to promote a clean environment, a healthy way of life and a peaceful world. The Scottish Green Party members were concerned about environmental issues, with global issues appearing most important. The Scottish Greens demonstrated an impressively high level of membership involvement in environmental and other social movement organisations. Members who joined at the height of media and general interest in the environment were compared with those members who had a long-standing membership of the party. The Scottish Green Party members were concerned about environmental issues, with global issues appearing most important. The media, critical environmental events and global issues were more influential in the decision to join the party in 1989 and 1990.
