ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the key ideas about adaptation and evolution. Starting with Charles Darwin’s work, we look at how he arrived at his theory of natural selection and then provide case studies to exemplify how his theory applies to both plants and animals. The chapter concludes by looking at the problems that rapid environmental change presents for many animals and plants.
