ABSTRACT

An SLO trajectory provides a framework for teacher decision-making regarding how to best support student learning toward an SLO goal. The SLO learning trajectory integrates standards that are central to the discipline within a grade level and intersects with standards in the previous and subsequent grade in the beginning and advanced stages, respectively. The trajectory is a continuum that describes levels of student performance, focuses on what students can do at each stage, and provides evidence that students are increasing in content skill and critical thinking from one stage to another. The learning trajectory describes the content, context, and cognitive demand of the evidence teachers will assess.
