ABSTRACT
This chapter examines that, Just as in the case of the author's score for 'The Manchurian Candidate', he was allowed to do his best the way he best knew how to do it. But the author will do his best and keep improving, and get others to feel welcome to all he do and share his joy in doing it. He had met Annie when she first came to New York, at the Art Food Delicatessen, where he used to make his giant sandwiches. He gave a four-hour concert with his quartet, Keeping the Flame Alive, that featured not only music that Jack and he loved, but readings by Terry Southern, Michael McClure, Jan Kerouac, Dan Wakefield, Ann Charters, Allen Ginsberg, Ted Joans, and many others. Carolyn Cassady had arrived so late from London that she asked me if she could postpone her reading at his concert and wait to participate with him the next day.
