ABSTRACT
In a three dimensional world, distance and location are part of the warp onto which social life is woven. Human encounters cannot take place without location being part of the interaction. Spatial behavior is ever present, public, shared, and mostly innocuous. Ironically, it is exactly these same qualities that make spatial location the hidden dimension of social behavior (Hall, 1966).
