ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is not to give a detailed description of Shahmukhi script comparable to what has been said about Gurmukhi in Chapter 3. Since a great deal has been written by various writers about the past incarnations of Shahmukhi, only some important facts about Shahmukhi are given below.
