ABSTRACT
On 9 November 1977 Egyptian President Anwar Sadat announced to the Egyptian parliament that he was willing to go to Israel to make peace. This was followed by the Israeli government’s invitation and Sadat’s unprecedented visit to Jerusalem on November 19th.
