It’s 7:30 at night. Jasmine, who is 3½, is playing with her Lego, building a big birthday cake. Her daddy says, “Jasmine, it’s a 5-minute warning for bedtime.”
“I’m busy,” says Jasmine. “Yes, but it’s getting time for bed,” says Daddy. “Why?” says Jasmine. “Because you need your rest,” says Daddy. “Why?” says Jasmine. “Because you have had a busy day and now you need to rest,” says Daddy. “Why?” says Jasmine. “Because your body needs to rest so you can have a great time tomorrow,” says Daddy. “What are we doing tomorrow?” asks Jasmine. “We are going to take a trip to see your grandma and grandpa,” says Daddy. “Why?” says Jasmine.
