ABSTRACT
This chapter will examine a range of reading skills, including concepts about print, sight vocabulary, oral reading fluency and vocabulary development. The focus of the chapter will be on how a teacher might address these skills in a meaningful and enjoyable manner in the early years classroom. Numerous examples of classroom activities will be given.
