ABSTRACT

While the focus of this book has largely been on core curriculum matters in inclusive PE, it is important to highlight how pupils with SEND can access activity outside the curriculum time through extra-curricular and/or community based activities. This is important because children with SEND are just as entitled to sporting and extra-curricular physical activities as their age-peers. Therefore, the aim of this chapter is to make teachers aware of the key organisations and initiatives aimed at providing activity for children alongside those specialist agencies who support children with SEND. As part of their extended inclusive practice, it is important that PE teachers eek to develop partnership links with such organisations.
