The following are the principal ways in which the Human Rights Act 1998 gives effect to these rights. • There is a general obligation upon courts and tribunals, when determining a question
involving Convention rights, to take account of decisions made by the European Court of Human Rights, the European Commission of Human Rights and the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe concerning the Convention (s 2).
