ABSTRACT
This chapter sets the stage theoretically, methodologically, and contextually for the ethnographic chapters that follow. It lays out the structure and organisation of the book, as well as the objective of the book as a whole. The chapter introduces the concept of precarious inclusion and briefly outlines the theoretical discussions concerning the role of life, territory, and temporality in contemporary politics that informs this concept.
