Assessing Brazilian workplace performance

WithSheila Walbe Ornstein, Cláudia Miranda de Andrade, and Brenda Chaves Coelho Leite

This situation seems to be the result of a lack of foresight and long-term perspective on the part of decision-makers, since the buildings are more oriented toward the companies’ corporate image than to their efficiency. There seems to be little or no concern for adaptive reuse/recycling of these buildings. In this context, a POE database is being generated by academic researchers as a starting point for future, systematic building performance evaluations, in order to provide feedback on building quality to all those involved in the process, from building delivery through to the end of the life cycle.
