Micro-Clusters: Antiques, Retailing and Business Practice

WithEwen J. Michael

The retailing of antiques, collectables, memorabilia, oldwares and other such products is a well-recognized trade throughout the western world. Coincidentally, this trade also forms part of the broad range of services offered at many identifiable tourism destinations, especially where the tourism product is based on heritage or cultural pursuit. Examples of these activities are commonly found throughout western and northern Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, but are also increasingly to be found in the newer destinations in eastern Europe, and in the emerging destinations of Asia, including India and Bali.
