ABSTRACT

The concept of “capture” in digital video is a nomenclature predominantly leftover from days gone by. “Capture” or “digitizing” is actually done at the camera when dealing with digital formats such as DV, HDV, XDCAM, and advanced video codec-high definition. Scene Detection is a feature in which Video Capture sees breaks in the date and time stamps created when the camera is started and stopped during the recording process. Each time the camera is stopped, Video Capture sees the change in the date and time stamp and starts a new file. Video Capture will start capturing from the moment the people click the button. If the camera or tape deck is OHCI/1394 standard, the device will start playing and transferring media from the tape to the hard drive. Scene Detection is a feature in which Video Capture sees breaks in the date and time stamps created when the camera is started and stopped during the recording process.
