ABSTRACT

CASE PRESENTATION An otherwise healthy 82-year-old right-handed woman presented for a second opinion regarding the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD). She had developed a resting tremor of the right hand approximately 9 months earlier and since developed difficulty with handwriting, buttoning, and other fine motor tasks. She had also become slower in general. She was diagnosed with PD and started on pramipexole, titrated up to her current dosage of 0.5 mg three times a day. This dopamine agonist reduced the tremor and improved her writing. Her family was concerned because she reported seeing children in her house at night even though she lived alone and had not actually had any guests.
